It is not too much to ask that I might start to remember to keep my mouth shut while swimming. I was concentrating so hard yesterday that I kept sticking my tongue out into the water. I looked a lizard catching flies according to my Mistress. The good news is I am not as terrified as I was and I am getting a little better. It’s never going to come naturally, I just don’t have the body. I’m more of your rugged hunky type, rather than a slim athletic build. It may be a while before I actually admit to enjoying it, but I am not of the opinion that there are much worse things I could be asked to do so I may as well make the best of it. I don’t throw the tantrums Ari does about going, but then I’m not as a proficient a swimmer as he is either. I’m making progress and that is the important thing. I do love how clean and fluffy my coat is afterwards, but that was spoilt yesterday by the application of tick and flea treatment, which is a shame. The only downside of going swimming yesterday was that I missed out on the walk. Only Ari and Shadow got to go so I sulked for a while. I know it’s only fair and that we have to take turns but with my new found love of the great outdoors I’m making up for lost time. Ari said it was very wet under paw anyway so I probably wouldn’t have enjoyed it. It was cold too so at least I got to stay in the warm.
When my Mistress lost her gloves she ordered some new ones in case she didn’t find them again. The new ones arrived today and as she found the lost pair she now has the difficult choice of which to wear when she goes out. If I had been her I would have got different colours to go with different outfits to make it easy, but she seems to have varying shades of grey!
