Aristotle’s day with his grandparents did not go quite to plan. He was ok in the morning when my Mistress left but by the afternoon he was missing her very much and spent most of the time crying. Not just the odd whimper, but full blown howling sobs. It didn’t matter how much he was reassured that he had not been left it didn’t comfort him at all. When she got home to him he was beside himself with relief. Looking on the bright side he has promised to be perfectly behaved today so that she won’t leave him behind.
My Mistress said she did enjoy looking round the show, but it felt all wrong to be there without a dog and there were too many people for her to really enjoy it. She tried looking to see if there was anything she wanted to buy and only spent £4 on a pair of gloves. She picked up a couple of leaflets but nothing of any real significance. She was pleased to spend some time with Eiger and Bilbo the two dogs on the stand in the afternoon and to see Bonnie the dog who was there in the morning. Bilbo is only seven months old and it was the first time she had met him. He is a very handsome chap and quite big. He is going to grow into a fine dog as he gets older and is hoping to be a stud dog which is exciting.
Today is the last day of the show. Ari is on the stand this morning and then will have to wait a while for my Mistress to talk to her friend who arrives at lunchtime and then it will be over for him for another year and they can set off on the next leg of the journey. They are going to Norwich tomorrow but then coming back to us. It means Ari gets to stay in a hotel tonight, but he’ll be so tired from the show that he won’t really notice where he sleeps.
