My Mistress is still sad thinking about the puppies. Oh she’s pleased that they are making new families happy but she misses them and things still feel a little empty. She gets very excited when she hears from any of them and knows they are doing ok. Shadow on the other paw is a very happy dog. If you have been reading for a while you will know that her human is James. When she was born James was 13 and lived with us. However when he was nearly 17 he went back to live with his Mum and Shadow missed him very much. She hasn’t seen him now since last May and yesterday he came down to see her. She was so happy and didn’t stop smiling. It might be nine months, but we never forget. She will feel sad when he goes this morning and probably will need more cheering up than when the puppies left.
Aristotle is off to his swimming lesson today. The best bit of that is that it is not my turn. I won’t have to go next week either because my Mistress will be off at Crufts with Aristotle. I know it’s good for me, but I still can’t quite get my head round having to get into water on a voluntary basis. What type of idiot chooses to do that?
The book of photographs of the puppies, that my Mistress put together, arrived yesterday. She has done one each year with a picture from each day so she can look back at how they progressed and developed. It’s a lovely memento. This year she has ordered some cards as well and a picture to go on the wall of the office. She says it can go with the one of her and me, but I think that it should go somewhere else. I like the one of us hanging on its own where she can appreciate how special I am.
Here’s another Otto (Chekov) picture from his photo shoot the other day.
