I’d just like to say thank you to all of you who have said how much they have enjoyed reading about the puppies. It’s not quite all over yet. There are still 4 of them and now it stays that way until Saturday when 3 of them will leave. We’ll keep doing a second update in the day until Saturday but then we’ll be back to the normal one a day, but it will still have a few more days with Chekov before he goes next Wednesday. At least it means we can wean you off gently.
The puppies are now alternating between playing madly, eating, sleeping and crying. They have definitely felt the loss of both their sisters and are wanting even more cuddles and reassurance than they did before.
We heard that Cracker arrived home safely. She slept all the way of a more than six hour journey and then was very good, going to the toilet where she was asked. Cinderella’s
journey took longer than expected and she was quiet all the way home too. She has already sent us this photo to show she is settling into her new bed very well.
When the puppies are quiet today the ones who are leaving on Saturday will have more time with their blankets and collars. It was impossible yesterday when they were already upset by being parted to take another one out of the pen into a different area. Cleaning up is already much easier but my Mistress hates it when they cry.
For my part, I’m still a bit subdued after the ear incident. I’m hoping a walk today might cheer me up. The doctor gave my Mistress some tablets yesterday for her bad chest, so I am hoping she feels up to taking me out. She has explained that getting Shadow back in shape is the first priority. Shadow is doing pretty well on that score and it won’t be long before you can’t tell she has ever been pregnant. She’s pretty fit for a five year old who has had three litters.
