Wednesday 19th February 2014 – Starting to leave

I know you all want to know about Cinderella and Cracker, but I have some important news first. Cuddles has had a little growth spurt. We weighed the three smallest this morning. Casanova gained 80g and is now 4920g. Cosette added 180g and is now 4820g and Cuddles added 180g to reach 4140g. She may well reach 4.5kg by Saturday yet. My Mistress was very excited and gave her an extra special cuddle.

When Cracker left my Mistress didn’t quite know what to do with herself. Cracker seemed very happy, but she had to face a long car journey to her new home. We are looking forward to hearing that she has arrived safely.

After Cracker left the others seemed a little subdued. It may just be they are having a growing day, but they slept most of the time until lunch. Then they woke for long enough to eat and went straight back to sleep.

Then when Cinderella went they huddled in the corner and went back to sleep again. What that did mean is that I could only take a video of a puppy sleeping, which is not so very exciting. You will have to wait to see if I can get a video of the four of them playing tonight or tomorrow. I’m guessing by tomorrow they will all perk up and be ready for a normal puppy day.

Cinderella ready to leaveI know you had a photo of Cinderella this morning but I couldn’t resist taking this one of her just before she left. She looked all grown up in her little harness and collar, ready to start her new life.

  1. Thank you so much for sharing all of this, it has been wonderful to be a part of it this way. It must be so hard to say goodbye to them now, but I’m sure they’ll stay in touch and you can be sure that you’ve given them a great start in life!

  2. It was a long day for Cracker!! She slept almost the whole journey back to her new home. Worried about her not eating much today, but she had plenty of love and cuddles. She is in bed now and seems perfectly at home!
Thanks for everything Rosemary (and Shadow and Falk!). For us we know this is the start of a wonderful experience and we’re looking forward to raising a sweet and lovely dog.
