Oh happy day. Cuddles has gained 150g. She is now up to 3570g which is wonderful. Admittedly nearly all of them put on a lot and some of them really put on A LOT! Chekov added 290g to reach 4840g. Cracker added 250g to reach 4680g. Cinderella added 230g to reach 4620g. Casanova added 160g to reach 4280g. Only Cosette had a smaller gain with 110g to reach 4070g. Cinderella and Cracker will be the first ones to leave and their weights will definitely be in a range we are happy for them to go. The lightest to leave us before this litter weighed 4790g and that was Addie from the first litter. I think Cosette should get to that but I doubt that Cuddles will. She seems strong enough so she should be fine, but I know my Mistress will be worrying about her for the first few days.
Today’s video shows there is nothing more interesting to play with than a box on the outside of the pen. If you look the far side there is a dog biscuit box which is stopping the panel of the pen going back too far and they are fascinated. Chekov comes and yawns to camera. It is after this film that they ripped my Mistress’s pyjama bottoms and then started to shred the paper. The paper is only at one end now so they keep their toileting to one area. That does not stop them stealing sheets of paper to play tug and shred with. You can see today’s video here http://youtu.be/6FfOgdwf3QY
Of course the windiest day of the year is exciting if you have your own weather recording equipment dotted around the garden. At the height of the storm we went to have a look what the wind speed was… only to find the batteries need replacing in the unit outside that send the information back, so we will never know. We thought we had got away with no more damage than the bin falling over, but we were wrong. Our neighbour kindly called round to let us know we have two roof tiles which are dislodged which haven’t fallen yet but inevitably will in the next day or two the way they are looking. Unless our Mistress moves her car there is a risk that one of them is going to fall on it!
It will be Chekov who is the last to leave and fortunately he is a fairly contented little chap and we think will be fine without the others. It is a good job he is not going before Cuddles as she adores him and would be lost if he left first. None of the others has such a strong bond. From their behaviour today they are all ready to be with their humans. They roll on their backs to have their tummies rubbed and come rushing asking to be picked up at the slightest opportunity. The great thing with an Entlebucher is that we bond very quickly and very firmly with our humans. It doesn’t take much to keep us happy, just some love and feeding at regular intervals.
Here we have Chekov’s pupdate. We thought we would finish the set of their trip outside the other day. So here is Chekov going adventuring.
