We have no idea why this litter is gaining more slowly than the others have, but the same is true today. All the puppies are gaining, which is good and they all seem healthy and happy but just growing more slowly. In many ways that can be a good thing, but it doesn’t stop my Mistress being concerned. They will all be at the vet tomorrow for their microchips to be fitted so my Mistress will see if the vet has any ideas.
Chekov is only just in the lead. He added 50g to weigh 4120g. The heaviest at this point last year weighed 4570g –so quite a big difference. Cracker is easily mistaken for Chekov but for the tail, she now weighs 4110g an increase of 130g, which is more the sort of figure they should be adding. Cinderella added 60g and now weighs 4070g. Casanova added 90g to weigh 3810g. He and the other two are less than any of last year’s at this stage but he is still in range of the previous year’s litter. Cosette only added 30g to reach 3600g and is now being given extra time with the food along with Cuddles. It helps Cuddles as she does not like eating on her own. Cuddles did reasonably well with the helping hand she is having, she added 90g to reach 3150g but we really would like to see her gaining more than that.
Today’s video shows puppies boxing / wrestling/ pouncing on each other and some who appear to be on springs – you can see it here http://youtu.be/gkl9LXQR6RE
Cinderella’s photos today are taken from her first trip outdoors. Most of them found it a little cold and were not very sure. They were also very ready to have a sleep when they came back in. It was an adventure for them and the first of many into the big wide world.
