I’ve been so busy telling you all about the puppies that I’ve been forgetting to worry about this being my big day. Today I have to go swimming properly for the first time. I don’t know what I think right now. I know that my Mistress wouldn’t be getting me to go if she didn’t think it was good for me, but right now it feels a bit like eating vegetables and not eating sweet things – it might be good for me, but that doesn’t mean it’s fun! I’ll let you know how it goes.
Shadow has taken to getting into my bed with me and I’m not impressed. I don’t really like having another dog that close at night. I don’t sleep properly and feel stressed. I’m not really sure what to do.
The puppies are excited about this week. They will start to get their individual times with their blankets from their owners. Cuddles and Cracker are still waiting for theirs, but all the others have their packages ready. After all the visitors went yesterday we did the big furniture move round. My Mistress wondered if it might just be easier to turn the house round 90 degrees on its axis as the three things that needed moving were all big and heavy and needed moving round one place clockwise. The pen needed to come out of the utility and go up into the window in the office. The chair that was in the window needed to go back to the hall by the utility where it used to stand but where the fridge and freezer, that were in the utility but had to be moved for the pen, now stood. So the pen came out and the fridge and the freezer went back in and then the chair moved, which meant taking down part of the puppies’ pen and putting them safely in their whelping box. Then the little pen moved to the office and the big pen was rebuilt. By the time it was straight my Mistress was exhausted but is happy with arrangements. She moved the position of the video camera at the same time – we’ll see later how well that now works.
My Mistress has now met all the future puppy owners and is delighted that the puppies will be going to such lovely homes. The puppies were all talking about it yesterday afternoon and they all seemed to be very happy – even though they will be sad to leave each other and their mum. I probably should say ‘mums’ as our Mistress is a bit like a mum to them to and they already follow her as she moves around the office.
