Friday 24th January 2014 – Day 27 in the little puppy house

IMG_0836I was wrong yesterday when I said the puppies wouldn’t be having any new experiences. The window cleaners came and cleaned all the windows around where they were. Not only were the strange noises and people but Aristotle doesn’t like them very much so he made quite a lot of noise.

The puppies are definitely starting to develop a routine for feeding and slept through the night again. They will happily go from 10pm to 6am, which is brilliant news and the youngest of any of our litters to have done that. They have also expressed a preference for the Orchard Chicken baby food over the Chicken Dinner one. My Mistress did a taste test with some of each in different containers and then saw which they eat. The good news is that she was in time to change the shopping order to increase the number of Orchard Chicken meals and cancel the Chicken Dinner ones.

They have started drinking a little water from the water dispenser when they need it. That’s good as later today the milk content of their food will be reduced again so it’s a bit thicker.

You should hear my Mistress singing nursery rhymes to them when she’s topping up with bottle feeding. Then of course there’s the old rhymes ‘Round and round the garden…’ and ‘This little piggy went to market…’ which she has always done before tickling our feet or under our arms. She still does it with us now when she dries us after a wet walk.

I had to show you this picture of Chekov sleeping contentedly in a most undignified position. We all do it, but it’s the first time my Mistress has caught one of the puppies sleeping like that this time.
