It has been the quietest night so far. Shadow has some milk, but not quite enough to feed six fast growing hungry puppies. They are still having supplement as well, but only normally every other meal or when one simply can’t find a teat and is crying. Cinderella spends most of her time in the latter category and is, I think, seeing our Mistress as her Mum already. That’s how it started with Aristotle! Just saying. My Mistress says there is no fear of a repeat of the keeping Aristotle situation as she is talking to homes for all six. Depending on the weigh in today, my Mistress might cut out supplementing except where a puppy is clearly distressed as she does not want them to grow too quickly. Alternatively she may switch to plain puppy milk instead.
There is more of a pattern to feeding times now, which means more sleep and more time out of the utility – which suits all of us. It is varying between an hour and about 3 hours in the middle of the night. The only problem comes if one of them has not had enough and realises that shortly after they are all supposed to be asleep. On those occasions they are very quickly being offered the bottle of food and are happy to accept.
Shadow is more herself now she is not cooped up in the utility and thankfully she is being all right towards me again. Which all in all is a good job as Aristotle will be home with us later.
