Shadow has asked for the room to be cleared and seems to be moving towards being ready at last. Her milk has started to flow and she is very unsettled. Her waters haven’t broken yet though and my Mistress is paranoid when she wants to go out to the toilet in the dark. She follows behind with a torch ready for anything that might happen. We all think it’s because Shadow has been waiting for our friend Avril who hasn’t been available today and will be coming round to see her in a while. Every litter Shadow has refused to start until Avril is on hand, so I think in future we will just check what is a good time for Avril and take it from there. It is going to be a long night as even if she doesn’t start giving birth just yet I can’t see any of us getting any sleep as she is moving around constantly.
