Shadow has entered the temperature drop zone. As at this morning it was 37.8 and at midday it is 37.1C. From now it will be 12 to 24 hours until labour starts and another short while until the puppies arrive. Shadow had bad diarrhoea overnight ad my Mistress spent quite a long time outside with her at 5am in the freezing cold. She seems fine this morning, just very tired and not wanting very much at all. She is drinking well and will take a little of the special intestinal food by hand in small lumps. She has chosen to spend her time in the whelping room and is just lying quietly outside her box. I’m in there too at the moment but I may move outside soon so that I’m not in the way.
I do need to tell you that some of the name choices have moved round and there is a completely new entry for number 2 girl who will now be called Cosette after the character in Les Miserable.
