Friday 20th December 2013 – Always something

Shadow is chilled out. My Mistress is stressed. Shadow knows there is nothing much to be done except to wait for things to begin. She can do no more than she has already done. My Mistress on the paw has reached the stage where she is suddenly thinking of all sorts of things which could still be done and is starting to flap ever so slightly. The flapping will stop when everything begins and she can do no more preparation, but at the moment she is definitely flapping. She can find things to clean that were already clean, by my standards! Jobs that don’t need doing that suddenly she needs to do. I think it’s nerves, but she isn’t doing any of us very much good. Shadow is very serene and lying in an uncomfortable heap waiting. It’s funny when she is lying down because every so often you see her sides moving all on their own as the puppies wriggle about. I say wriggle, Shadow says they are playing football with her insides and it isn’t so much fun for her.

Our Euro MP made the mistake of emailing my Mistress and giving her the opportunity to comment on one of the policies he felt proud of. Unfortunately for him, it was something she feels strongly about so she gave it to him full blast. I’m proud that my example of the Pet Dogs Democratic Party has had such an impact on her, although to be fair I may have got it from her in the first place!

The man who came to see if we could have a stove in the office was very nice and very helpful. We are now waiting to see if our Master and Mistress agree to our having it put in.
