Being pregnant it seems in not a bad life in this house and Shadow is being afforded every indulgence. To be fair to her, she is very large for this stage of pregnancy and is getting tired and uncomfortable already so she does deserve some of the pampering. She’s asked for a deeper mattress to her bed so that she can get really comfortable and for her meals to be split into three portions a day instead of just between the two. She has also asked if she can have just a little bit extra now and again as she is getting quite peckish. She only has to mention something and my Mistress jumps into action. We’re not bringing the whelping box and all the equipment in from the shed this week, but it will certainly come into the house in the next week or so in order for my Mistress to give it a thorough clean and disinfect before it is put into action. The next step will be the furniture moving that is required to get everything exactly where my Mistress wants them. The freezer and fridge have to come out of the utility to make way for the pen with the warming pad in it. Then Ari’s crate will need to be moved. The Christmas decorations will come out next week anyway, so it won’t matter if their cupboard gets blocked off. All the whelping preparations stuff will come out and my Mistress will once again read the book she has and the paperwork on puppy cpr. She hopes she doesn’t need to know most of it, but she’d rather have it all fresh in her mind just in case. She wants to make sure there are plenty of things to help supplement the milk if it is a big litter in case that pet shops are closed over Christmas when she needs them. There’s bound to be something she doesn’t think of, but somehow it will all be sorted.
