Saturday 16th November 2013 – Three in the bed

Our Master was away last night so my Mistress, in her infinite wisdom, decided it would be ok for Aristotle to sleep upstairs on the bed with her as well as me and Shadow. Three Entlebuchers are too many to share a bed with, even if it is a king sized bed. It wouldn’t be so bad but for the fact that there was only Shadow willing to sleep on my Master’s side. So she had half a bed while Aristotle, our Mistress and I had the other half. There were a few choice words exchanged in the middle of the night when Aristotle got restless and stood on both my Mistress and me. It was kind of fun as we could all go to bed early, but I’m not really into the whole ‘group hug’ thing.

My Mistress saw a long range weather forecast that said we are in for a very cold snowy winter. She’s not looking for one that says we are in for a warm dry winter to counter her concern. I pointed out that the forecast for much longer than five minutes ahead is rarely right in this country so she may as well make up her own forecast for all the good it will do her. She’s opting for warm and sunny with temperatures around 24 degrees Celsius. At that point I suggested she emigrates as no amount of forecasting was going to make a British winter like that. Nor would it make sense not to wear her walking boots or wellington boots when she goes out for a walk as in reality our winter is, as always, a very muddy affair – as was proven when she mistakenly wore her normal shoes to walk me the other day!
