Yesterday was enough to restore your faith in global warming. It was beautiful and back to being like summer. It was warm on Saturday afternoon too and we’ve decided we’d like it to stay this way until it can be summer again. It’s nice because all the leaves are still on the trees so it doesn’t feel like autumn yet. I wonder if they can hang on much longer. Shadow said she didn’t do very well on the treasure hunt. She found the clues too difficult so had to entertain herself by saying hello to the other dogs who had been taken by their families. She rather liked a little boy spaniel but wasn’t so keen on the girl Labrador puppy. In the meantime our humans were trying to solve anagrams of house names and find totally impossible clues all over our village. My Mistress was still grumbling that she couldn’t find another weather vane when she came home. They had good fun though and there were quite a few people doing it so hopefully it raised some money for the village hall. I said I should have gone. I’ve lived in this village just as long as they have. And given some of the answers were on telegraph poles, whether they want to admit it or not I am the one who knows the telegraph poles of this village better than anyone else in the family. I’ve peed on all of them at one time or another.
When they got back things rather went downhill from our perspective. My Master is the baddy in the pantomime again this year and spent an hour or more practising his songs before going to rehearsal. The only problem is that he can’t really sing, so I had to lie with my paws over my ears for a while, but he’s getting better.
