We are enjoying the last few minutes of peace before the girls return. It’s been a good couple of weeks. I can truly say that this holiday has helped me to rejuvenate myself. I feel much younger than I did a couple of weeks ago. I’ve lost a little weight. I’m looking good and I know it’s all going to go to pot just as soon as the girls are home. I’ll be back to cowering in a corner and feeling old. I just wish it could stay the way it is now forever. I have asked my Mistress if we can go away together more often as it really does me good and I know she likes the time when it’s just us. Sadly she has not lost weight on holiday and does not feel years younger. It’s not helped by her upcoming birthday. She’s in her usual ‘new resolutions’ mode. She had been content with progressing in her keyboard playing but her bad hand has put paid to that, so now she needs a new personal challenge. She’s thinking getting fit should be on there somewhere, but she’s also decided to go back to learning French; that being the only language other than English that she is any good at. Even then, ‘good’ is a questionable word!
For the time being we are in that post-holiday period where there’s no food in the house and the washing pile rivals Mount Everest for height. The new freezer is on order but can’t come until Thursday and the new printer needs to be picked up later this afternoon. Tesco’s will restock the cupboards at some point and the post will eventually get opened. My Mistress said the most exciting thing she has planned for today is a trip to the tip – that’s living!
