It was sad leaving Belgium yesterday. It really was a lovely place to live and just as good to spend a holiday. We met rain as we left, which somehow seemed appropriate. We all had a wonderful time and I’m so thrilled I could show Aristotle some of the places that meant so much to me and introduce him to some of my family. The journey home was fairly cramped in the car as my Master had bought one or two (or five) crates of beer. He loves Belgian beer and was so pleased that Ari volunteered to sit in the back with the boys so his crate could be filled. Ari said he quite enjoyed the journey with two people to cuddle up to and to be fair to him he was as good as gold and didn’t really wriggle all that much at all. This holiday has really shown how much Ari has grown up. He’s not a puppy any more. He’s been a wonderful calm settled dog and a credit to our breed. He’s been good company too. I said I’d like it to be the two of us on holiday again next year but I’ve got to wait to see what happens. Some of that will depend on where we are on the girls’ seasons and them having puppies.
I was really sorry when we dropped Dan off at his house. He’s been great company for this holiday and I rather thought he and I had developed a bit of a bond. I don’t normally bond with people outside my immediate pack but there was something about him that really made me feel settled and comfortable.
What is the first thing you would do when you get back to the UK to a settled location? For my Mistress, the answer to that was to buy a freezer. It can’t be delivered until next Thursday, which is frustrating, but I’m sure she can cope until then.
