Wednesday 17th July 2013 – Quiet please – tax in progress

You would think it would be an easy job to file a company tax return on line. However, you would be wrong. There’s the 20 minutes to find the right log-in details, then an hour to try to download up to date software and make it work and that’s before she had entered any numbers at all. Then the software had downloaded something she didn’t want along with it so there is the time to uninstall what has been installed. You can imagine we weren’t welcome in the office when that was all going on. My Mistress was getting more stressed by the minute. She’s also worrying that she hasn’t heard back from the US tax authorities- she’s starting to have visions of being arrested if she ever sets foot in America and that is not a good prospect. It wouldn’t be so bad if she owed all these people money, but she doesn’t!

I tried to point out that the tax legislation doesn’t really cover dogs, but apparently that’s not an approach she should be encouraged to take as it could lead to all sorts of problems. I left her to it and went outside to enjoy the sunshine.

It was time to feed the vegetables again yesterday and to be honest I think it would be far better to give the food to someone else, they don’t look as though they need any help at all. The biggest problem is that the cauliflowers and broccoli are so large that you can’t even get to the carrots and parsnips let alone see if any carrots are ready for digging up. It wouldn’t be so bad if the cauliflower looked as though it had he intention of being more than leaf. The only thing showing real signs of being edible is the peas. I think there may be a meal or two coming from those fairly soon.
