Tuesday 11th June 2013 – Be careful what you wish for

My Mistress has said for ages that if the old fridge freezer breaks it will be great as she really wants a new one as she’d like one that makes ice and dispenses cold water. The fridge freezer works perfectly well and she’s not the sort of person who throws things out when they still work. Last night the freezer handle broke off. The fridge and freezer still work as well as ever, it’s just awkward to open the freezer door – she’s still not justified in replacing the freezer but she has got the broken one she wished for!

We didn’t end up working in the summer house as the sun didn’t come out until towards the end of the day. Maybe we’ll be able to do that today, but there’s not a lot of point when it’s cold outside. What my Mistress did do was collect the sample from Air that had to go to the vet for testing and as part of her bid to prove that her bike was worth getting she cycled with it to the vet rather than take the car. I did suggest she could walk with Shadow but she had a fair point when she said that the road wasn’t a good one to walk a dog down due to the fast traffic, it not being wide enough for large vehicles to pass and the potholes. Of course, she also found they were reasons it wasn’t terribly good to cycle down it either!

Aristotle is in trouble. There are already more nose marks all over the window. He looked up innocently and said ‘How did you know it was me?’ but as they are several feet off the ground and could only have been made by something the size of a cow or an animal that walks on two legs and I have never seen my mistress with her nose and tongue on the window then I think it’s a fair cop!
