Tuesday 7th May 2013 – A Pulled Muscle

I don’t know what I’ve done but I seem to have pulled a muscle in my front right leg. It’s ok some of the time but if I turn awkwardly I really know about it. I’m a complete wimp when I’m in pain and stick so close to my Mistress that she trips over me. I did have a quiet afternoon yesterday while the girls went to Brimham Rocks. Shadow said she thought she’d seen more people in one afternoon than she’d seen in the whole of the previous year. Megan was excited about the size of the ice creams they’d had. I think my Mistress might be spoiling Megan a bit because she’s so sad about her moving out for a while.

As many of you will know, my Mistress is a very organised person. I told you that she was setting herself a project of exploring North Yorkshire and to that end she bought a lovely big map of the county that now has pride of place on one of the walls in the office. It now has some little green stickers on it, each of which has a number. There is also a brand new notebook in which you can find the corresponding numbers together with a little write up of the place, including important information such as whether it is suitable for dogs and how easy it is to find a bin / toilet etc. She says if a jobs worth doing it’s worth being totally obsessive over. I think that should be written on her gravestone when anything happens to her ‘Never do anything by halves!’

The sooner the insect protector arrives for the vegetable trough the better. It needs to be relabelled as a ‘puppy protector’ although knowing Aristotle he’ll work out how to unzip the panels to get in anyway. He has been caught with his nose in the trough again. I think we’re going to be lucky to have any vegetables at all!
