Sunday 14th April 2013 – What a day

Well yesterday was hard work. We sat in the car for the morning while Megan acted as a model for the presentation. She came out and told her all about it at lunchtime. My Mistress had done a lot of talking but then kept stopping and demonstrating by showing what a lovely dog Megan is. Then in the afternoon came our starring roles. Ari and I were given our numbers and then had to stand with a handler each in different rooms. Then each of the people who were doing the training had the opportunity of coming and examining us all over. It was a bit off-putting having complete strangers coming and seeing if I had any testicles and seeing what my ears and mouth were like. We didn’t get to find out where everyone placed us, which was probably as well, although I did hear some of the comments and was mortified to hear one say I needed to lose a little weight! By the end of the day we were all very tired and my Mistress was utterly worn out. What we really wanted to do was fall asleep which to be fair we could on the way home in the car, but it was very disturbing to hear my Mistress singing and talking to herself to keep awake. The good news was that three of those on the course passed and will be able to judge our breed. Now we are all home and glad for a rest. It was good fun, but I wouldn’t want to do it too many times. Hopefully by the next time model dogs are needed some of the younger ones will be ready to take over from me.
