Yesterday the sun was shining, it was warmer than it has been for ages, the crocuses finally bothered to open and my Mistress was in a much more positive mood. There were lots of little things which cheered her up, including some lovely emails and comments, thank you. We were four of the little things that helped, as were the sparrows which have moved into the bird box on the summer house. When you add all that to her sitting down with Megan to discuss the future it wasn’t such a bad day. Megan has decided she’d like to be referred to a specialist to see if they can help. She was also thrilled to hear that the Leon, the stud dog is being checked out too in case it isn’t Megan that is the problem. It was almost sweet seeing Megan and my Mistress having a heart to heart. Depending on the test results, Megan may go to live somewhere else just on a temporary basis until next year when there will be a stud dog in the UK she can go to so she doesn’t have to travel. Then if it all worked out, she’d come back here to have the puppies. What would be amazing is that the stud dog might then be one of Shadow’s puppies from her first litter, so one of Aristotle’s brothers. When Ari heard that he just sighed a regretful sigh and sloped off into a corner. Even I have to concede that Megan is a very good looking girl and it would be a shame for her not to have any puppies at all. Her grandmother had a scan at five weeks many years ago and appeared not to be pregnant and then went on to have 3 puppies, so Megan is also clinging to the hope that maybe they just didn’t appear.
