Why did she have to say ‘Don’t pee on the new trees.’ If she hadn’t mentioned it I would not have felt the burning urge to pee on those particular trees. I might have peed on some of the more established trees, but now I just want to christen the new ones. We only had the new ones because the old ones came to an untimely end when Ari was a puppy. Now there’s a risk that the new ones will follow suit. At least she’s had the sense to arrange for the blueberry bushes to be planted in the front garden out of harm’s way and in this case harm comes under the names of Alfie, Aristotle, Shadow and Megan!
Things are not going completely well between Megan and me. She’s gone for me a couple of times. My Mistress was trying to keep us together the whole time but that wasn’t going so well so we are all rotating. The problem is that while Megan is not with my Mistress, even if she is with my Master and Andy, she just cries. It’s all very difficult, particularly as Shadow is in season too. I’m most relaxed when I’m with my best friend Ari, even though he damaged my bed while we were in kennels. He got a bit bored and chewed it. It’s the one I’ve had since I was a puppy and I’m very fond of it. I still choose to sleep in it even though I have a bigger new one.
My Mistress has a new and slightly crazy project. The other day my Master was talking to someone about people from Yorkshire and talked of ‘we’. My Mistress was pulled up sharp as even though she has lived in the county for 5 years she doesn’t think of herself as part of a ‘we’ more a ‘them’. Anyway, she decided it was about time she really got to know the area, so she has bought herself a big map of North Yorkshire and is planning to take us all out exploring so that little by little she really feels she knows the area. She is going to stick pins on the bits she has done or colour it in so she can see how far the project has advanced.
