Saturday 16th March 2013 – Last year it was sunny

When we had our fun day this time last year it was hot and sunny. This year the forecast is rain. My Mistress says that doesn’t need to be a problem and we will be able to play our games as planned it just may not be quite as fast and furious as we are outside and she may have more clearing up to do after us at the end. When I say ‘she may have’, I probably mean that she will be begging for other people to help as there is a limit to what she will be able to do one handed. She can now type reasonably well again, although with her bad finger she can only reach keys on the top and middle rows as it won’t bend very well yet. I said she could just leave those letters out and see if you could still understand what she was typing, but she didn’t seem to think that was such a good idea. She wants to get back to playing the keyboard but I think it will be a few weeks before she can do that, although it might help her hand to have a go. Maybe the movement and exercise will help to stretch the muscles and get everything working  again – as long as I don’t have to be the audience when she tries!

We were talking to some of the owners of Shadow’s puppies and it seems that many of her puppies are very bright and can’t possibly take after their mother at all. Either the fathers’ of both litters are very bright, or Shadow is a latent intellectual who just covers it up very well. My Master is holding out for the latter, as Shadow is his favourite but my Mistress is not convinced.
