Sunday 24th February 2013 – Modelling

It seems that at the grand age of 7 and a quarter I am going to be starting my modelling career. It’s not quite what you might be thinking. Now that our breed has been recognised as eligible for entering dog shows we have to train people to know what to look for in dogs like us. For the seminar we need some dogs to act as examples to show what is what and we need five to be assessed by the judges so that we can test what they have learnt. For the ones to be tested my Mistress has asked for there to be a range of different dogs and I’ve ‘volunteered’ to be one of those assessed. I’m not expecting to do very well. I’m too old for a start and I’m sure some of the younger up and coming dogs will beat me paws down. She has in mind who the others will be but she needs to check if two of them will be available to come. I think Ari is going to be one of her examples in the morning, but not be assessed. I’m quite pleased about that. I’d hate to lose out to Ari.

My Mistress has been trying to work out the diary and all the bookings for the next few weeks. She is once again trying to fit too much into the available time. She thought she’d got it under control but the moving of her operation has rather thrown a spanner in the works of that one. Ari is excited because it will mean he’s likely to be going on a train for the first time. My Mistress is less convinced about the idea as it means changing train at Birmingham and she doesn’t know how he will be with that. Apparently it is a very big busy station and they won’t have very long between their trains. He’s game for most things so I hope it works out ok.
