Megan’s sleepover did not go well. Not even vaguely ok. When she arrived Bella wasn’t as pleased to see her as everyone hoped and there was a small incident involving Megan’s ear. When I say ‘small’ I mean quite big! Megan lost a chunk of ear and was bleeding profusely. She bled all over my Mistress and over my Mistress’s friend’s kitchen. The problem was that she shook her head, Megan not my Mistress, and splattered blood everywhere like a scene from a horror movie. Megan had to go to an emergency vet in London to have stitches. This is probably a good time to tell our own vet how much we appreciate her. The cost of the London vet was horrific. Poor Megan was there until very late, as she had to have an anaesthetic for them to do the stitches. It was just lucky that she hadn’t had her tea yet so she was ok to have the anaesthetic. My Mistress was really upset having to leave her with the vet but she had no choice. It didn’t help that she didn’t really like the vet, but with Megan needing to be sewn up she had no choice. One thing is certain, my Mistress won’t be wearing those blood spattered clothes again this trip! It’s a good job she’d taken some spares.
Meg didn’t really feel like a day in the car driving to Strasbourg, but she didn’t have much choice in the process. She is just hoping that when she gets to Switzerland the dogs there aren’t mean to her too as she’s had enough and wants to come home. She even said sorry for being so mean to me.
My Mistress felt very sorry for Bella’s owner too. It wasn’t anyone’s fault. Sometimes these things happen. Shadow said she knew that from the time she ended up at the vet the night she arrived in Switzerland for similar reasons. Sometimes we dogs don’t behave exactly how you’d like. It’s what makes us dogs rather than humans.
