Megan has a thing about remote controls and similar devices. She says it’s the shape of them in her mouth. She just forgets herself. We’ve actually had to resort to keeping a spare tv remote control in reserve as for some members of the household finding they have to get up to change channel is unthinkable. However this time she has gone for variety and eaten the controller for the Wii games console. Her choice is mainly dictated by what has been left in reach. Had the tv remote been accessible I have little doubt she would have chosen that one. She’s not daft though. It did get her a particularly long, and might I say muddy, walk – to burn off her excess energy. She came back looking like a mud equivalent of a snow man. Shadow was laughing as she was equally muddy. She said they were very good for most of the time they were off lead but as they were getting to the place where they knew they would have their fun curtailed they saw this ploughed field that can’t be planted because it is water logged. Apparently they’d been discussing their plan while they were out of earshot so when they got to the key moment Shadow just shouted ‘Now!’ and they raced off across the field before my Master and Mistress had any idea what they had in mind. Shadow is going to miss her partner in crime while Megan is in Switzerland. Her walks are going to be much more sedate affairs without Megan to lead astray. It makes it that much more of a shame that Aristotle can’t go for a long walk. He’d love being up to his knees in mud, I’m quite sure. I would of course not contemplate anything that darkened the white on my paws.
