Now I know it’s a strange thing to say, but my Mistress actually wants it to rain. She wants to know whether her repair of the water butt has worked or not. She does have some doubt as when you turn the tap to let the water out it is all a bit wobbly and just at the moment she can’t remember which is the ‘on’ position so she may have set it to empty as quickly as it fills!
Yesterday morning we had an amazing moment. Aristotle, Shadow and I had all popped outside to do a bit of synchronised pooing, as we are wont to do on a morning, when we disturbed the most beautiful bird in our garden. My Mistress said it was the barn owl that lives on the edge of our village and we were very lucky that it had come to pay us a visit. If we’d realised it was there then we’d probably have found somewhere to look out of the window and watch it rather than disturb it. At least, that’s what my Mistress and I would have done. Shadow would have wanted to chase it as she does with anything that moves and a fair few things which don’t , but she always wins against the non-moving items so it isn’t a fair race.
We also heard that our friend Queenie has come into season and is on her way to meet Shadow’s uncle Osiris in Germany. It will mean more cousins for Aristotle when they are born. To be fair it probably means more cousins for all of us, but a little more distant for some than others. If all goes to plan they will be born in the middle of April so our numbers will be going up once again.
