Well the good news is, it’s February and the bad news is, it’s February. On the one paw it means that January is behind us and days are getting lighter and quite possibly at some point warmer. However on the second paw, where did January go? It doesn’t seem two minutes since it was Christmas.
We have had gale force winds for two consecutive days and it’s no fun. I go outside and my ears get blown all over the place. My Mistress repaired the water butt with silicone. It is now convalescing for a couple of days to make sure it is completely dry before being sent out to collect more rainwater. Knowing my Mistress she will have done something like seal the butt so you can’t get water out of it anymore. I hear you say ‘Sure she can’t be that stupid?’ and I sigh, if only you were right! Alarmingly she says she can hear a tree hitting the boards somewhere in the wind and she’s thinking of going out to investigate. I said leave it til calm weather but she said that it won’t be hitting it then so she won’t know which it is. She has a point.
Ari’s swimming was funny apparently. He was struggling to keep his head out of the water this week. He’d got it in his eye and then in his ears and was appealing to get out and dry off. Instead, the nice man brought him over a buoyancy collar to put on. Ari was not impressed. He took one look at it and decided that if that was the alternative he’d make a bit more effort to hold his head out of the water as he swam. When they left, my Mistress was half way home when she remembered that she had forgotten to pay for his lesson. She didn’t feel very good about it at all. She emailed them as soon as she came in and apologised.
