Well we’d been worried that with the snow would stop lots of people coming to the party and it did stop some. We ended up with 15 rather than 18 people staying on our house, which worked out just fine. There was the odd funny moment like trying to watch my Master blow up the airbed without using a pump. He gave up in the end and resorted to the pump! Megan and Ari went off to kennels and it seemed very quiet without them. Then Beija’s new human arrived, having got up at the crack of dawn. Beija liked him very much and Shadow thought their current dog Molly was great fun. It was really sad after they’d gone, little Tess cried for ages. We had to take it in turns to sit with her to comfort her. Given there are no other dogs where she is going to live it’s probably best that she gets used to being an only dog. She had lots of hugs and cuddles from the humans too so she soon cheered up. Shadow spent the night with her to keep her calm and Ari will share with her for the next few nights.
We decorated the pub and it all looked really good and I think my Master enjoyed the night. My Mistress spent her night acting as taxi service running people up and down to the pub. By the end of the night she was worn out. It all started when she said she’d have to pop back to feed Tess and put us to bed. Then everyone saw the chance of not having to walk.
Today’s plan is cooking brunch for all the guests and then waving them on their way. After that I think my Mistress is going back to bed!
