You should hear my Mistress talking to little ‘Tessie’, not that I’m jealous you understand, but there she is pampering the little thing saying that if when she goes off to her humans she’s worried about anything then all she has to do is pick up the phone and call and my Mistress would be right there. Now I know I’m only her dog, but I think she might be missing something. Who in their right mind lets a 10 week old have access to the telephone? I was at least six months old before I was allowed to do things like that. You just know that goody four paws Tess is going to be absolutely fine with her family and will probably never put a paw wrong. Ok so she was chewing on her brother’s ear earlier, but she was only getting her own back for the way they gang up on her. It’s hard to really feel annoyed with her, she is beautiful and much as I’m jealous even I have to admit she is the most gentle puppy you can imagine.
To be fair, my Mistress had a dreadful day yesterday. We’re all playing up rather. I seem to remember the same thing happened last year with Shadow’s first litter. We just all get to the point where there have been too many people coming and going to our house and we all feel as though we’ve had too little attention and there are these really cute puppies getting all the attention and for whom nothing is too much trouble. Anyway, Megan got out of the wrong side of her basket and was causing trouble from the word go and we all took our lead from her. It doesn’t help that it’s winter and we can’t spend so much time burning off excess energy outdoors. Megan went for a long walk but it didn’t make much difference. Then of course the puppies were being naughty as well and my Mistress had loads of work to do so that she can take time out later in the week and well she did get just a teeny bit cross with us.
The good news for the puppies is that after yesterday’s blip they did all gain weight nicely. I don’t know what yesterday was all about but Dickens added 260g to reach 5340g, Tucker passed the 5kg milestone to reach 5130g, Basil passed 5kg as well and he’s now 5040g. Tess added 130g to reach 4890g and Beija added 90g so she is 4620g.
