Well the puppies’ tree was removed yesterday, much to their disappointment. I told them it wouldn’t be long before they could go outside more and spend time going from tree to tree, which to be honest is one of the most exciting parts of going for a walk. They spent yesterday doing as much devastation as they could to their nice neat pen. Usually my Mistress cleans them out around 8pm ready for the night, but she had to resort to doing it at 5.30pm at they had completely ransacked it. Tabloid newspapers just don’t anchor well enough, it isn’t all the puppies’ fault. Having said that on both times cleaning them out both Tess and Tucker slept right through it with my Mistress cleaning round them and then moving them to a clean bit while she did where they had been lying. They both come running for cuddles when she comes into the room too, which leaves me a little jealous.
Basil can be quite comical. He likes to have his tummy tickled. He likes it so much that you only have to go near him and he rolls onto his back so that he’s prepared for you. How do you resist something as cute as that?
They have really grown up now and are ready for the next stage of life. Dickens needs to have a duvet of his own so that he can be tucked in at night and be under the covers. It’s only a few short days until they start to move out and they really will be ready for it. My Mistress has had to buy them some tougher toys as they are getting past the stage of playing nicely with their soft toys. She has told them that after the ones that are in the hospital wing come back to the pen later that will be the last time they are given back after being repaired. After that, when they are repaired they will be put away for the next litter to enjoy – after being thoroughly washed anyway.
They are on their full puppy food now, rather than their starter food and are very happy to munch on the dry biscuits when they get peckish. It’s funny to think that by this time next week all the boys will have gone to their new homes.
Dickens passed 5kg this morning and is 5050g. Tucker is 4890g and Basil 4840g. The girls are a little lighter, Tess is 4780g and Beija 4390g.
