Friday 4th January 2013 – A Big Day for Tess

Tess is very nervous today. She’s going to be meeting her new potential owners for the first time. She asked if I thought they’d like her. What sort of question is that for a puppy to have to ask? She is the most adorable little girl we’ve ever met. I said she should believe in herself and should be asking what sorts of things should she check out with them to make sure she is happy. She’s not timid by any means, just the most gentle creature you can imagine. You’ll be fine, Tess, just wait and see.

I had an interesting email yesterday which is to not just me but all of you who are members of the Pet Dogs Democratic Party. Our friends at Pedigree are running a PhotDOGraphy competition and you can take your owners out for the day and make them take some pictures of you so that they can enter. There are some great prizes so well worth a shot. You need to get your entries in by the 25th January so there isn’t very long, but I’m hoping there’s long enough for me to have a shot at it. I’m going to check my Mistress’s diary and see if I can pencil something in.

Everyone has gained weight again. They tried a new pillowcase for being weighed but all announced they weren’t happy. It’s deeper than the other one and they didn’t feel quite so confident in it. My Mistress has now agreed to sew up the hole in the old one and not make them change. She’s got to sew polar bear’s leg back on again too, so she can do them both at once. What it all meant was that the weights were a bit hit and miss as none of the puppies would stop wriggling. Dickens gained 110g to reach 4760g, Tucker is not far behind at 4600g having added 100g, then Basil at 4560g having added only 50g if the scales can be believed. Tess added 80g to reach 4470g and Beija added 80g to reach 4190g. We are reckoning most of them will be about 5.5kg when they go off to their homes at the end of next week.
