My Mistress was the first one awake this morning. The puppies slept through the night. It’s the first decent night’s sleep she has had for nearly five weeks. You can’t believe how happy she is. The only downside is that it is easiest to weigh the puppies when they are asleep and as they had slept so well they just want to play. It also delayed cleaning them out as they are happiest in the little pen when they are sleepy too. So the process is feed, let them fall asleep, weigh and the clean out. However this morning it was feed, be driven crazy by the noise of squeaky puppies, wait for ages, until eventually they ran out of steam.
Given we seem to be back to continuous rain, we are thinking of changing the order with Santa from a sled into an ark. Ari has probably got the right idea learning to swim. He’s going again this afternoon but is saying he doesn’t want to.
Weight increases were fairly low yesterday, but that happened when they went through the night, or almost did before, so I think it’s partly having one meal less and not having adjusted to eating a little more at other times. Dickens gained 70g and is now 2910g, Tucker gained 90g and is now 2890g, Britannia gained 40g and is now 2840g, Basil added 90g to reach 2670g and little Beija added 30g, despite her extra time with her mum yesterday and is now 2540g. Of course all the running around they are starting to do will be using some of it! We posted 2 videos on Youtube yesterday with sound. You can find them here and here. (there are two – both with sound)
