Tuesday 13th November 2012 – It’s my birthday

Happy birthday to E-Rameses, Esther, Ebba and Emma my brothers and sisters and love to mum Anka. I think about you all even though I don’t really get to see you. It’s amazing to think we are 7 today, almost 50 in human terms. I still think of myself as young, but I realise from how Aristotle looks at me that I’m kidding myself. My birthday is being slightly overshadowed by puppy proceedings. Shadow’s temperature is starting to drop which is the first sign of things beginning to happen. She’s panting a little too but I think that’s because getting around is now so difficult. We aren’t sure when puppy cam is starting so we’ve been setting up our own webcam ready to bring you footage of the births. It’s almost set up but there are few things still to sort out and some tests to run. It’s complicated by the fact that we are on a different computer now so we need to work it all out all over again. Shadow has suddenly become very large indeed and seems to be eating more than even I thought possible. My Mistress has revised her estimate of when she thinks they puppies will arrive and says she would now not be surprised if it were Thursday. Granddad wants it to be Saturday as that’s his birthday but as one was called after him last year I think that would just be greedy. What about Granny?

Ari can remember some of the bits from when he was tiny and worryingly is trying to regress. He was investigating whether Shadow had any milk yet, which with his teeth now would not have been pleasant for Shadow. I think for a few seconds she was happy to practice as she was grooming him at the same time.

  1. Well Alfie you are certainly looking good for your age. Sasha says welcome to the 7s club and not to worry about your age (she’s 7 too).

Addie is looking forward to greeting her new brothers and sisters and hopes they all arrive in good health and that her mum has an easy delivery.
