Saturday 27th October 2012 – What not to do

Now correct me if I’m wrong but if you aren’t able to eat many things the last place you want to go to is a food show. And yet, that is exactly what my Mistress has done today. Now to be fair it isn’t any old food show. It is the ‘Allergy Food Show’ and she is hoping that she is going to find lots of ideas of things she may be able to eat. Life is getting easier as she adds things in successfully, but there’s still no coffee. I’m rather looking forward to when she comes home, not because of the samples she is hoping to bring home, but because today and tomorrow she is planning to eat bacon and add that back to her diet. Orange wasn’t so exciting but I’m hoping I might get in one the act with the bacon.

I’m not sure if I told you, but we are very pleased with the work that Tino and his family have done on the Entlebucher Club website and now we’ve even won an award for it. We came second to the Greater Swiss in the Rare Breeds and Import category but they are much bigger than us and there are more of them, so we aren’t going to argue. Anyway, well done Tino and thank you for all your hard work. It really is good news for us as there was a cash prize and as we are such a small club and it takes us a long time to build up enough money to do anything. We’re trying to set up so that the final breeding tests can be run in this country to make it easier and less expensive for girls to join the breeding programme but even more importantly to get some of the boys to be stud dogs. You’d think that was an easy thing to ask. What male dog wouldn’t aspire to such a role? However it’s not that simple and apparently it can cost a lot of money. We’re hoping that Ari’s brother Arnie will be one of the first ones to go through our own programme, which would be very exciting.
