This hormonal thing is very difficult to get my head round. Shadow is not feeling herself and is quiet, calm and rather demure. She does have odd moments when by contrast she wants to play with all of us but even then it’s not like normal. By contrast, Aristotle is the hormonal teenager of the house is totally beside himself and doesn’t really know what’s going on. He’s also feeling rather guilty for having odd urges towards his mother. I’m not sure which is worrying him most, the fact that it’s his mother or his disloyalty to Megan. All I can say is that at this point I think it is a very good thing that Aristotle was castrated. It’s not just sour grapes on my part. Can you imagine trying to keep him apart from the others? As it is, he can jump higher than the rest of us and is quite capable of opening doors. You really don’t need an entire dog who is also nicknamed Houdini when it comes to having an in season girl in the house. Actually, never mind the house, make that anywhere in five mile radius.
My Mistress has booked all the travel for them. Megan is more excited than any of them. She’s running round like a mad thing. A mad thing on three legs most of the time as her ankle is still hurting. She’s going back this morning to see what our vet says. My Mistress has suggested that it would be a good idea for Megan to calm down before she does herself any more injuries. She tried, gently, to suggest to Megan that it was because she runs round like a mad thing that she ends up causing herself harm in the first place. Somehow I don’t think she’ll ever change.
