You give a human a new toy and you get no sense out of them for days. Give them two new toys and you may as well not exist! My Mistress has a new chair. This is not the worst of the problem, I’ll come onto that. The chair means she is sitting a little straighter at the computer. That in turn has meant she has had to raise her computer screen by putting the dictionary underneath it.
It is a spare dictionary, she does have another one handy, but it was the only book within reach that was big enough. Anyway, I digress. Don’t focus on the dictionary.
The distance to the screen has meant she has had to put her new glasses on as they are better for distance vision. She gave up wearing the new ones as she couldn’t get used to them, so now we have to put up with her moaning that she can’t get used to them again.
Anyway, this is the bit where the toy comes in. She wanted a break from the computer screen so she has spent time trying to set up her new phone. That’s the new toy, well that and the chair that started the whole problem. She can now download all the exciting applications she’s convinced she has been missing out on.
Now tell me, which would you rather do, spend your timing setting up and application which logs your dog walks or take your dog out? You can guess my preference. I don’t need to know where we walked and how far it was. Granted I quite like it when she keeps score of who manages to fetch the ball first, and on that I should just mention that my Mistress always seems to lose. She never retrieves the ball first, what is that about? Oh the walk did happen, but she hasn’t been able to record it as she hadn’t finished the settings. Only one ball got lost today. It’s much better now the field has been harvested and a dog who will remain nameless, Megan, can no longer run into the edge of the crop forgetting she still has the ball and leave it there where no one can find it.
