Tuesday 7th August 2012 – An urgent call for action

When a puppy comes and breathes fumes of rotting vegetation at you, you just know he’s been at the compost again. I don’t know how he gets away with it. He seems to have a cast iron stomach and actually thrives on eating well rotted grass. It makes an awful mess and smells revolting, but that’s dogs for you. It reminds me of my penchant for cat poo.

Megan is sporting a torn ear, thanks to a spat with Shadow over a chew. It had been given to Megan but she really ought to know by now that all treats should first be offered to Shadow and only if she declines are the rest of us allowed to enjoy them. Anyway, Megan is ok, just a big of blood, no real long term damage. Which is probably more than can be said for my Mistress’s lilac trousers which she was wearing at the point she knelt in Megan’s blood, but which had dried long before she realised what a sight she looked.

Shadow’s brother, Rocky, has moved to Indonesia. He has only recently moved but has been appalled by the situation facing our fellow dogs there. There is a pet shop near his home where dogs are being kept in dreadful and inhumane conditions. He’s asked if I could sign a petition to help him do something about it and now I would like all you members of the Pet Dogs Democratic Party to take action with us and sign the petition too. You can find it here. It’s a real chance for the civilized world to make a difference. I’d just like to say for those dogs, cats and rabbits reading this, in order to have our voices taken seriously, you may on this occasion be best to get your human to do the signing.
