Tuesday 10th July 2012 – Back to normal

Well that’s that over and done with. In her more optimistic moments, my Mistress thinks she may have scraped a pass, although completely losing the plot on the accompaniment test may not have helped, nor would the answer ‘I’ve absolutely no idea’ when asked the question ‘Which note am I playing?’ Ah well, fortunately this is what she does for fun so at the end of the day it is only important for her pride and today she can go back to reading stories all day, which is what she does for a living! It’s tough, but somebody has to do it.

She did discover one major advantage of the roof box yesterday. She will never lose her car again. All she has to do is look for the vehicle in the car part with the ocean liner on the roof and that’s hers! It will also come in handy if the water levels keep rising. She’ll just abandon the car, climb into the roof box and row away. She did wonder about investing in an outboard motor to stick on the back, just in case. I mentioned the small matter of the screw holes where it attaches to the roof bars and the issue of water getting in, but she seemed to think if she picked up a couple of small children on route they could stick their fingers in there to clock the holes! I think there may be laws against things like that.

I am excited about the weekend. I’m off to see my human maternal grandparents for the day. Little Aristotle is coming too and he’s already bouncing up and down with excitement. What he’s going to be like by Saturday I dread to think. He has been before, but he was quite small at the time so doesn’t remember it very well. He’s also getting excited about the thought of having some brothers and sisters. Plans are afoot to mate Shadow in a few weeks’ time. What he is most excited about is that if things go well, one of his sisters may stay with us until she is 13 weeks old. He thinks she will be a playmate for him, but I’ve said he mustn’t get too attached as she will be moving out eventually.
