Monday 4th June 2012 – An English Bank Holiday

Last week, which should have been the bank holiday but wasn’t because it was moved to this week, it was sunny. This week, which is the bank holiday, is not. If they hadn’t announced in advance that the bank holiday was being moved, if they’d just crept up on it and moved it at the last minute, today could have been a gloriously sunny day. Mind you, being English we’d have found something else to complain about. At least the village photograph isn’t likely to have too much problem of people squinting due to the sun. There’s a silver lining to almost every cloud. I’m looking very hard to find the silver lining of the cloud of not being invited to the Hog Roast, but I must say on that front I am struggling.

Mind you, yesterday was worse when my Mistress was looking through the leaflet for the different types of dog food available and found I should now have progressed to the ‘senior’ variety. I presume she is planning to move to the ‘senior’ human diet as we are, to all intents and purposed about the same age. I’ll vouch for her being less active than she used to be, although from observation she doesn’t seem to be having a great deal of problem with weight gain so I may be struggling to have a paw to stand on in my argument. It all started when Shadow asked if she could try a wheat free food. She’s just found out that her daughter, Dora, is allergic to wheat and it might explain the frequency of upset stomachs that Shadow has if it is genetic and passed on from her. She doesn’t fancy having a blood test, but said she wouldn’t mind changing food to see if it made a difference. Dog food ordering would be so much easier if we all ate the same thing, but it would mean we all ate a different food, which gets very confusing at mealtimes.

  1. Hey Alfie,

Let me just tell you , you don’t look like a Senior buddy – you’re looking good for your age!! 🙂

When my Mum lived in the UK she bought James Wellbeloved food for her Doggies, I think it may have been Grain Free?

Thanks for sharing your book, Mum has just downloaded – Yay!! She’s been looking at Smashwords lately, so it’s cool to see a finished book on there 🙂

    Hope you’re having a fun day 🙂

    Your pal Snoopy 🙂
