Alfie is too upset to write this. He is sitting quietly with my Mistress and doesn’t want to be disturbed. Last night we received news that his father, Papa Elio, has died. Alfie still clung to the hope that one day he might meet his father. They are so similar in look and temperament and he wanted to see that for himself. Now he will have to wait until he too crosses the Rainbow Bridge.
He asked if I would send his love and greetings to all his family, in particular to Elio’s Master and to tell them we are all thinking of them at this time. My Mistress was thrilled to meet Elio and cried the first time she saw him. She is having some special time with Alfie today. She says when she dies, she doesn’t want to go to heaven. She wants to go across the Rainbow Bridge too, so that she can be with all of us. I’d like the thought that when anything happens to us all, we could all be together in a never ending field of wild flowers with some trees to provide shade from the lovely sunny day.
