My Mistress is busy trying to think about everything that is needed for while she is away. I no longer feel quite so bad about the fact that the rest of us dogs are going to Kennels, at least that is one less thing for her to worry about. She has to arrange child care, dog care, husband care quite apart from the things she needs to have done for hers and Megan’s trip. By the time I’d heard her notifying her insurance company that she is taking her car abroad and then seen her working out how many Euros she needs to the second leg of the journey I was feeling quite exhausted. Tesco’s have been booked to deliver food for the rest of the family on Monday and Megan is off to the vet for her chip to be checked on Tuesday. My Mistress has no intention of being stranded abroad with a dog again if she can possibly avoid it. The car has been serviced. There must be something she hasn’t thought of. She’s promised to ring me every day so that I can bring you all the news as it happens. Then of course there is all the work for her new company.
I’m not sure if I told you about our company. I’m the patron. It is going to be selling short story downloads to the public and the date of the launch is 16th May. A normal human being would think that a trip to Switzerland and one to the Netherlands was enough to contend with, without having to worry about all the work for the company, but as with all things my Mistress does not do things by halves. She’d be better travelling by train so that she could carry on working while she travelled. She’s not going to be able to read and edit stories while she’s driving. Perhaps Megan could do some while she is sat in the back.
