There has been a recent research study published by an American University which proves that dogs who are given at least five treats a day and allowed to lie on the couch live a significantly longer and healthier life. So to all you humans out there living with under treated and under spoilt dogs, now is the time to relax the rules and let them get comfortable while you go out and buy some treats. Interestingly they found the reverse to be true for Jack Russells. Apparently, the fewer treats they are given the better it is for them. And who said that there is no justice in the world?
My Grandpa says we should have a party when we have 50 of our breed and not wait until we get to 100. I suppose I should tell him about the big birthday party that is planned for later in the year. Aristotle keeps telling everyone it is his birthday party, but I think he may be exaggerating the situation just a little. In September we are having another Entlebucher Fun Day and it will be a birthday party for all our number who have September birthdays. All of Aristotle’s litter mates, Queenie and her first litter have birthday’s in September. So out of the, now 31 Entlebucher in the country 13 of them have birthdays in that month. I think my Mistress may be planning a doggy birthday cake for them. It’s going to have to be a very big cake and I think it may be made out of slightly different ingredients than the humans would be expecting. I wonder what she’ll do for the icing.
Oddly, my Mistress has gone out for a walk this morning without taking any of us with her. She is walking to the next village with people from Chapel, but I can’t see where the fun is in that if you don’t have at least one of your four dogs as a companion. She has promised that there will still be a dog walk this afternoon, so all is well.

Oh Alfie,
What a great find – I can’t believe my Mum has been keeping this research from me buddy – so happy you uncovered it!!
How can she possibly not let me on the sofas now? Plus, she really hasn’t been giving me enough treats either……
I’m off to get things back on track 🙂
Your pal Snoopy 🙂
Roooooo I love those scientists but I hope my humans won’t read your blog because I love my walkies. I will forward to all Jack Russel owners I know tho! *waggy tail*.
Your mistress went on a dogless walk? What’s the point of that? Roooooo
