Sunday 25th March 2012 – eight divided by seven – remainder one!

Four dogs, two children and two adults – one car! And they think there aren’t going to be arguments over who is sitting where. Now correct me if I’m wrong, but the term ‘seven-seater’ refers to the number of places that passengers can sit in some degree of comfort. And, if I’m not mistaken, 4 +2+2=EIGHT – not seven! It’s my Mistress’s car so she gets a seat as driver and none of us can buddy up with her as she wouldn’t be able to drive the car. After that it all gets a bit vague. We thought about taking the dog crates out and having three of us in the boot but there is no guard between there and the seats and we travel better in the crates anyway. Only two of us fit in the crates – the questions is, which 2? I take up too much space so I either get the front passenger seat, but my Master had other ideas. Or I get the crate and besides, my Master doesn’t fit in the crate. I said I had best have Ari in the crate with me as that way I can keep an eye on him and it isn’t as though he is the smallest of the family anymore. That leaves the boys with Shadow and Megan in the back of the car and one of them will have to sit on the floor. Legally I don’t think that can be one of the boys. I said the fairest thing was that one girl went on the floor on the way there and one on the way back. At which point they both barked at me to keep out of it as I was getting a crate to myself they didn’t think I was entitled to comment. It’s going to be a very long journey. Two hours in the car with the girls squabbling and climbing on the children who will get very fed up with it very quickly does not sound like a recipe for a peaceful journey.

  1. Alfie,

I think they should listen to you, cos you sound like you’ve given this a lot of thought buddy!!

I’m lucky cos I get the whole back section to myself!! Although one time we went on a road trip and I managed to get myself out of my harness and climb over to hang with the kids – Tee Hee – Mum wasn’t too impressed and stopped and put me back with the harness so tight I could barely breathe (Ok I’m exaggerating, but I sure couldn’t escape anymore – doh!!)

Where did you all go buddy on your adventure?

    Have fun,

    Your pal Snoopy 🙂
