Just before I start, don’t forget there’s still time to enter our competition to win tickets for Crufts. You need to see Saturday’s entry for the details.
There is white stuff outside. I think most of you have probably seen it outside your windows, but it came as a complete surprise to Aristotle as he hasn’t seen any snow before. I’ve tried to explain it to him, but quite honestly snow is one of those things that loses something in translation. You have to experience it. To begin with he didn’t like it. Usually we are expected to pee on the grass. When the snow started he stood by the back door and said “Grass is green right?”
Obviously I said “Yes,” wondering where he was going with this one.
“If I’ve understood what you’ve told me, that stuff is wet, cold and white.”
“Yes,” I said.
“So, I can only be expected to pee on the grass if I can see where the grass is, right?”
I groaned as he shot out of the back door and peed just a yard from the door before shooting back in.
At that point I sat him down and gave him a lecture about him still knowing where the grass was, even though he couldn’t see it.
“Besides which,” I said, “Snow is fun. Come on I’ll show you.” To be fair it is the only sort of wet stuff I will tolerate. So I pushed him out of the back door and chased him into the garden then showed him how to push his nose into the snow so that it comes back up with a white end. I wanted to build a snowman, but it turns out that Ari isn’t quite so keen on the cold and wanted to go back indoors instead.

Dear Alfie,
You must feel like Plato, mentoring Aristotle! That’s a lot of responsibility, because one day Ari will mentor Alexander the Great 🙂
Keep on wagging,
Tootsie
Hey Alfie,
You’re such a good big brother showing him how much fun Snow could be – I’d have played build a Snowman with you for sure!! I’ve never seen Snow, maybe one day……. sigh! 🙂
Have fun
Your pal Snoopy 🙂
Playing in the snow is fun. We rarely see it at our house though. We have to drive to the mountains to make our noses white 🙂
I wouldn’t know what to do with snow either! All we see is rain here…but that means more M U D!!
