Tuesday 17th January 2012 – You can’t trust a puppy

You leave a puppy to write your diary for one day and he posts embarrassing photos of you. Does he have no respect for his elders? It’s a shame he isn’t a bit older and then I could delegate some real work to him. I don’t think he’s quite ready to be ringing bookshops to get them to stock the book. On the other paw, if he were to go in person they might just take stocks because they think he’s cute. Maybe I should suggest that. When you need to send copies of a book out on a daily basis you really start to appreciate just how far it is to the nearest Post Office. We don’t have any shops at all in our village so it means going at least 3 miles. In reality it is not much further than we used to go in Belgium. It just feels further as there are lots of fields in between rather than houses.

I have to go to the vet today for my annual injections. I do hate having the Kennel Cough one up my nose, but looking on the bright side it isn’t as bad as it has been recently with them sticking their fingers up my backside! At least that infection has cleared up and I seem to be back to my normal non-smelly self. I don’t think my humans realised just how distressing the vets visits for that problem were. Would you like to have someone sticking their fingers… well I won’t go into to detail, but suffice it to say I didn’t like it. It reminded me of all the trouble when I was a puppy and had an undescended testicle. Oh how the vet prodded and poked me then. It was most undignified.

I’d best go and start work or I’ll be in trouble. I have to start early to allow time for naps during the day. They all get taken out of my working hours which is most unreasonable.
