We thought one of the puppies would pass 5kg today, but not quite. Alan is now 4980g and should certainly pass the milestone tomorrow. It doesn’t seem five minutes since we were willing them on to half a kilogram. I do hope they know when to stop gaining weight. I would hate any of them to end up bigger than me. Now they are the size they are it is getting harder to keep the pen in order. My Mistress’s friend in Switzerland suggested they might like a larger pen. I’m not sure how it will work, but my Mistress has sent for two more panels to increase the size. I think she might have to move the whole office round to make room for it, but it will be fun trying.
Duke is doing fine. It’s his turn to have an update. I asked if he would like to say a few words on his own behalf but he was too busy playing. He’s more of an action dog than a desk dog. He wants to be exploring and getting involved rather than thinking too deeply. I suppose it wouldn’t do for us all to be the same. He’s a very handsome chap and as he gets older I think he will probably grow to look even more like his father. He has taken to sleeping with his head under the blanket. It’s funny the first time it happened we thought it was just an accident, but it keeps happening.
My Mistress needs to make some running repairs to the puppy toys. It’s amazing how much fun the puppies can have, but it does come at a price. The latest victim is the ball with different length pieces of rope and material coming off it. When you’ve got seven puppies pulling in different directions I suppose you are bound to feel the pain after a while. It’s taken over as the favourite since grey teddy was rescued from his latest hostage situation.
