Hi, we’ve not met before, I’m Aristotle. Uncle Alfie said that now I’m old enough I can have a little go at writing to you myself. He’s lovely is Uncle Alfie. He’s not sure what to make of me, not least because he doesn’t want to share his mistress with me, but she’s been there since I was born and nursed me when I was tiny. We were bound to end up getting close. I’ve been practising clinging to her trouser legs every time she gets into the pen in the hope she’ll pick me up. To be honest I only have to come to the gates and hold my paws up when she passes to have her pick me and give me a cuddle.
I’m one of the quieter ones of the family. Quite honestly having six brothers and sisters can be hard going when you are a thinking dog and need to find some space of your own to think in. Adrienne and I spend a lot of time together. We’ve claimed the space at the side of the whelping box as our own, which works well until Duke or Dora stamp all over us when they decide to make sure everyone is awake. Annette is the worst for pulling my tail, but I’ve been practising my bark and I leap forward and try to scare her, but to be honest given that she is half a kilo heavier than me she tends to just laugh.
We’ve been having a long discussion about whether I shall be moving out at all. I like it here and my Mistress is very attached to me, but my Master thinks I should be making my own way in the world and making another family happy. Uncle Alfie has shrugged and said it might be nice to have me around but he is run ragged by the two girls already. I did rather take to the family that came to visit me earlier this week, but we’ll have to see.
I like this picture of me. After being weighed yesterday I snuggled down into the pillow case and used it as a sleeping bag. It made me think it would be very nice to have a little bed all of my own.
I’ve got to go now. I’m very tired and need a nap. I’ll be back later playing on the video. You should watch out for my bark and leap, it’s quite something.

What a little sweetheart!!
It is a pleasure to meet you Aristotle – I can tell that we will make great friends when you grow up and get old enough to appreciate the finer things in life – like how to best train your humans, and methods for finding the finest sleeping place in the house! I hope you find a lovely family who can give you a computer too, it sounds like you have lots to say 🙂
